More snow information by Mr. Wardlow

This morning, some Year 4 children were talking to me about when snow comes in the UK and how they were expecting snow in December, giving us a ‘white Christmas’.

Here is a Met Office page about our snow and several links to click on.

I have heard it said that it is more likely to snow at Easter in the UK than at Christmas! Although December 2010 was particularly snowy here, it is more usual to get snow in January and February. March is an unpredictable month, which can be pleasantly warm but sometimes bitterly cold with snow, particularly early in the month. I can remember some April days when I have seen 10cm or more of snow in the morning but the strength of the sun has been enough to melt all of it by evening!
